Indian athlete Sonia Devi Phairembam advanced to the 2023 Asian Games finals with a time of 2:16.435 in the women’s K1 500-meter semifinal. Sonia Devi, 27, will race in the women’s K1 500-meter final on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 7:45 AM IST. This will be her third Asian Games.

Parveen Huda of India won the women’s 57-kilogram quarterfinal match against Sitora Tardibekova of Uzbekistan by a commanding margin of 5:0 at the Asian Games 2023. Huda’s victory not only ensured her a medal in Hangzhou but also secured India a slot in her category on the Olympic quota for the Paris 2024 Games.

Depending on their various NOC teams, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have the power to choose which athletes will represent them at the Olympic Games. On October 4 at 11:30 IST, bronze medalist Parveen Huda is scheduled to participate in the semifinals. Anirban Lahiri, men’s team fail to win medal

Anirban Lahiri, an Indian golfer, moved up one spot to fifth place today, although he still holds the 12th-place spot in the men’s golf individual rankings for the Asian Games 2023. Over four rounds in Hangzhou, the two-time Olympian had a total of 274, or -14 under par.

Shubhankar Sharma (32nd), SSP Chawrasia (29th), and Khalin Joshi (T27) did not also try to win any medals. India placed sixth in the men’s team tournament with a total of 34 under par. Shooting: 

With a combined score of 361 points, Indian shooters Kynan Darius Chenai, Jorawar Singh Sandhu, and Prithviraj Tondaiman won the gold medal in the men’s team trap category at the Asian Games 2023. China won the bronze medal, with Kuwait taking the silver medal despite being 13 points behind. Kynan and Jorawar, meanwhile, also earned spots in the individual trap final.

With a score of 17 under par, India’s top golfer Aditi Ashok won silver in the individual women’s golf tournament at the Asian Games 2023. She is the first female golfer from India to take home a medal at the Asian Games.

The two-time Olympian, who nearly missed out on a medal in Tokyo, entered the final round with a comfortable seven-shot lead. But on this particular day, Aditi made four bogeys and a double bogey, which gave Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol a two-shot victory. With a six-shot improvement, Hyunju from the Republic of Korea took home the bronze medal.

With a final score of 704—57 10s and 34 Xs—Indian archer Jyoti Surekha Vennam finished the women’s compound qualifying round in Hangzhou 2023. She is presently in first place in the elimination round for the current world champion.

Aditi Gopichand Swami scored 696 points, including 50 10s and 14 Xs, to rank fourth overall. The Indian team is in first place with a total of 2087 points, followed by Parniit Kaur (687) in 12th and Avneet Kaur (685) in 15th.

Atanu Das is in fourth position in the men’s recurve qualification round with a score of 678, which includes 36 10s and 14 Xs. Dheeraj Bomma Deva, who received a score of 675, is now in seventh position. With a score of 2022, India is third in the team standings.(INDIA at Asian Games 2023)

At the Asian Games 2023, India has so far taken home 41 medals in total, including 11 gold, 16 silver, and 14 bronze. Following China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan, the Indian team is now in fourth place in the overall medal rankings.

Updates to the Asian Games 2023 medal count:

October 6 Men’s team wins gold in hockey and silver in recurve and bridge; India finishes fourth with 95 medals, including 22 Gold. At the current Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou on Friday, the Indian men’s team trounced Japan 5-1 to win gold. With this victory, the squad also guaranteed a straight qualification for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Soon after, the Indian men’s bridge team, which of Raju Tolani, Ajay Prabhakar Kahre, Rajeshwar Tewari, and Sumit Mukherjee, won silver.

In the earlier match for the bronze medal in the Recurve Archery Women’s team event, India defeated Vietnam to earn their first medal of the day. Sonam, Kiran, and Aman each won their individual repechage bronze medal bouts in wrestling, giving India three bronze medals overall, bringing their total to 93.

With 22 gold, 34 silver, and 39 bronze for a total of 95 medals, India remained in fourth place.
